Hello. I'm Takami from Suikoushya. I'm a carpenter Hello.
I'm Takami from Suikoushya.
I'm a carpenter from Japan.
I am in Aix, France. This city and Kumamoto, Japan are sister cities, and because of this relationship, a Japanese Noh stage was moved from Kumamoto. I'm planning to go see it soon.

Here is a report on my recent situation.
The Kickstarter campaign is now underway and has attracted 150 supporters.
Thank you very much for your support.
There are still 5 days left to reach the goal.
I hope you all can share some of this information with us.

Pictures of today

This is the plan I am thinking of implementing if this campaign is successful.
We will be using Japanese nail-less construction methods, but we are trying to keep the appearance of the building as Western as possible.

Classes will start in May, but it is up to the campaign to decide what kind of environment we can start in.

That will be fun!

Kanna Blade specially made by Mr. Imai, a blacksmith in Kyoto

Its name is "紫明”(Shimei)

In Japan, "the natural scenery is clean and beautiful" is called "山紫水明"(Sanshi Suimei).

I named this Kanna using the words "紫" and "明".

The beauty of woodworking is that the material is used as it is and its natural state is also beautiful.

It would be nice if Kanna could be used to further express its beauty.

Let's enjoy woodworking together!

The rewards for this campaign will be a complete recording of my classes at school, so that you can study them at home.
This campaign rewards you with over 30 hours of video lessons that I have recorded in full and made available for you to study at home.
We are living in a time when it's hard to see the way forward for COVIT 19.
I would be happy if you could learn as much as you can about woodworking at your own pace.

And I'll certainly look forward to sharing some real, wonderful woodworking with you all!

The joinery is a sculpture with maximum consideration for its function. It appears to have a perfect shape, with all the useless things cut away. Through making this joinery, we learn how to use tools, how to handle the wood, and how to adjust the tools. When you have this skill, you will have unlimited possibilities!

Today I went to Ise Jingu Shrine, which has had a great impact on my life values.
I worked here for three and a half years.
During that time, I was fulfilled being a carpenter and deeply grateful to be Japanese.
It always makes me feel welcome and refreshed.
It's always new, traditional, simple, and majestic.
It's a unique worldview that continues to fascinate me.

In 2021, I hope to meet many more friends and grow as a person.
I look forward to working with you all!

I'm in a rush to get ready for my move to France on January 8.

Today I would like to talk about Sumitsubo.

The Sumitsubo is one of the carpentry tools used to mark materials.
You put charcoal liquid in this container and use it.
It has a thread attached to it, so you can use it to draw a straight line.

This Sumitsubo is used by carpenters to mark materials.
The act of marking materials is one of the most important tasks in the construction of a building.

The act of marking is the most important task in the construction of a building, as it determines the quality of the building by more than 90%.
Therefore, this marking task is done by the master.

The master risks his life to make the mark and takes full responsibility for the correctness of his mark.
Therefore, the tools used to make the marks reflect the thoughts and feelings of the master.
Sometimes the ink pot becomes more than a tool, it becomes the alter ego of the master.

It is often seen to exist as a work of art. Each tool has its own story.

This Sumitsubo is a reward for the campaign.
Link my bio.

Please try to draw your own mark with this Sumitsubo!
