French cedar
I am in a sawmill about 2 hours drive east of Marseille.
And finally I found it.
Here is a cedar grown in France.
In fact, the atmosphere is similar to Japanese cypress. However, I am impressed by the materials with a familiar atmosphere.
After all, this sawmill provides materials at Natural Dry. The logs are dried in nature for over a year, and even after sawing, they are slowly dried in the shade.
There is no reason not to feel the owner’s commitment to wood.
I plan to buy materials for the next project, Torii, from this sawmill.

At Suikoushya, we share traditional Japanese woodworking techniques and skills. Since it is a small group system, we will provide guidance tailored to each individual’s skills, from beginners to woodworking professionals. Please join us!
I look forward to sharing fine woodworking with you.
