Due to the terrain and sunlight, the core of the tree is biased to either side. This biased side is called the SE (back). The opposite is called “hara”. The SE (back) has a narrow rings of a tree, and the HARA (belly) has a wide ring.

Use SE (back) and HARA (belly) appropriately according to the part to be used.

For example, the beams used for the ceiling are used with the “SE” facing up. The wood used for the floor should have “HARA” facing up.
