“Kakushi Kanawa Tsugi”
Can be used when connecting short materials.
The inside is firmly connected by complicated processing, but the front and bottom (visible part) look straight. At first glance, it looks like a simple connection. It may be Japanese aesthetics.
This is a very unbalanced joinery, so there’s always something to support underneath.
You can learn how to make Kakushi Kanawa Tsugi on Suikosha’s free YouTube video.

We, Suikoushya, plan to establish a school building in Ile de France in 2022.

This is a project that we want to build with Suikoushya graduates and professional woodworkers. Through this real construction project, Takami would like to pass not only Japanese woodworking techniqs and craftsmanship but also the spirit of the Japanese people involved in making things.
