I will explain “Shachi Tsugi” that connects the posts.
Basically, the posts are sandwiched and joined. It is very effective for sandwiching and connecting posts.
Of course, it is also possible to connect horizontally as a joinery without sandwiching the post.
It’s a simple mortise and tenon principle.
It consists of a part that pulls, a part that prevents twisting, and a part that receives the load.
You can learn how to make “Shachi Tsugi” on Suikoushya’s free YouTube video.
Let’s enjoy woodworking together!

We, Suikoushya, plan to establish a school building in Ile de France in 2022.

This is a project that we want to build with Suikoushya graduates and professional woodworkers. Through this real construction project, Takami would like to pass not only Japanese woodworking techniqs and craftsmanship but also the spirit of the Japanese people involved in making things.
