Plates with a large area, such as tables, are prevented warpage to minimize warpage. This is called a “dovetail cleating”.
Since the board is alive and expands and contracts in the width direction, no adhesive is applied to the dovetail so that the board can move freely. Then, make the groove a little longer in anticipation of that amount of movement.
