About a Building up ceremony
Once the hut skeleton is complete, we will hold a Building up ceremony to thank the construction so far and pray for its completion. Next, sprinkle rice cakes and coins from the roof of the hut. When I was a kid, I attended the ceremony several times. I was very envious of the people who scattered the rice cakes from the high rooftop. Nowadays, there are only a few houses that have a building up ceremony.
When the skeleton of the Ile de France school building is completed in 2022, be sure to hold a Building up ceremony! What can be sprinkled instead of rice cakes in France? I’m really looking forward to it.
We, Suikoushya, plan to establish a school building in Ile de France in 2022.
This is a project that we want to build with Suikoushya graduates and professional woodworkers. Through this real construction project, Takami would like to pass not only Japanese woodworking techniqs and craftsmanship but also the spirit of the Japanese people involved in making things.
