In general, use long timbers without joinery for transverse members, but if you must use joinery, shift it so that the load is not concentrated in the same place.
The joinery can be extended while maintaining its strength, but remember that the area is still fragile.
It is very important to know what kind of joinery to employ as well as where to use it.
Many joyneries are employed at Suikoushya Kyoto School.

We, Suikoushya, plan to establish a school building in Ile de France in 2022.

This is a project that we want to build with Suikoushya graduates and professional woodworkers. Through this real construction project, Takami would like to pass not only Japanese woodworking techniqs and craftsmanship but also the spirit of the Japanese people involved in making things.
